A Blind-Spot Monitor - An Extra Pair of Eyes

When you're turning or changing lanes, it's important that things are clear for you to move over. To help you stay safe in Reno, many car manufacturers are including blind-spot monitors with their vehicles. We have several models with this feature at Lithia Volkswagen of Reno.

A blind-spot monitor does exactly what its name implies; it can check to see whether another vehicle is in your blind spot. In some vehicles, the monitor is always on, and a warning signal will let you know whenever someone is by your side. In other vehicles, you'll only be warned if your turn signal has been activated and there's a car in your blind spot. The warning signal is typically a light embedded in your side mirror.

These monitors are able to work through the use of sensors placed on either side of your car. With advancements in technology, these sensors are becoming more common.
